The Birth of Venus in current … “art?”

Birth of "venus"?
Birth of “venus”?

Winning the “what the heck is that” prize in the ”Horrible modern references to Renaissance art” category… this really awful photomontage on canvas on display on a street in Orvieto.

The “artist” has truly NOT captured the spirit of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus with this naked lady’s fluttering long hair extension that demurely reveals her C-cup breasts as she magically rides waves on a BOAT, with a life-saving ring at her feet. Further congratulations to the “artist” for totally isolating the central figure of Botticelli’s painting, thus removing it completely from its humanist context.
