If you love fruit: Pomarium (Sept 11-20 2009)

Here is another not-touristy event notification: POMARIUM is a show and market of antique and rare FRUIT. Amongst activities for non-specialists like me are a lecture on the history of gelato (in italian) by the owner of Carabe’, watercolour painting class (of fruit, of course), a cooking class on the uses of antique fruit in today’s diet, display and sale of antique prints of fruit, tastings of grapes, figs and apples, a kids laboratory, and tours of the facility and park. Judging by the excellent photos on the website, this is going to be an excellent photo opportunity. Some knowledge of italian would be helpful.
