Wine Town Firenze – design FAIL!

I can only say: SO. BAD.

This has got to be the worst poster design fail ever. We received this at the office via email and I heard a gasp from a colleague so I had to look too… Are we to believe that seeing Florence through “Wine Goggles” (instead of “beer goggles) is… a good thing? The comune di Firenze has put their logo on this and I’m afraid they haven’t seen it – surely it couldn’t have been approved!?

I almost feel the need to do a little visual analysis here. It’s almost impossible to analyze. The poor graphic artist who had to incorporate some nice logos with an awful concept, a kinda sweaty student-model, fireworks, a sunset, a cut and paste, two tag-lines, and every colour in the rainbow.

The website www.winetownfirenze.com is equally bad, designed by a certain Orlando Perri whose OWN website doesn’t even work. And here is their idea of a “viral video” – to which I suppose I am contributing.

Instead of the two tag lines in the poster, I suggest a third: Wanna get wasted on wine? Attend this event next fall.

Love your perspective. We have a lot of this cut and paste posters, too, with too much of everything – but the wine bottles would not work at all – we have camels and falcons in everything

I think I went to this last year. If I remember correctly, they had tents in different locations like outside Pitti Palace and in San Niccolo. It was really interesting and the wine was good value. That video does nothing to show the actual event (though I remember there were people filming with proper Sony cameras) which is a shame. In the “viral” video I was waiting for the payoff. What are they looking at? What is so funny? Wait. . . we never find out! Ahahaha. Rubbish.
