Arttrav's
editors recently picked up a copy of this home-made trivia game
at a local fair, and we're so enthused, we want to tell everyone
about it.
The "Toscanacci"
(-acci is a suffix that translates this as "big bad tuscans")
is a game that truly matches arttrav's idea that travel is learning
(as is living here). Tourists and expats alike will enjoy the quirky
questions about Tuscan artists, traditions, geography, history and
sports as they work their way accross the board, "paying"
for the occasional vino or agriturismo. Recent test-drives with
foreigners, southerners and tuscans have provided for very fun evenings
in.
Another aspect
we appreciate about this game is that it is a local artisanal production
by a Belgian expat and her Italian husband. The occasional inaccuracy
of questions or their translation contribute to the charm of it
all. The game comes in a plastic tube with a rolled up "board",
place keepers, die, instructions, and 600 questions on 100 cards.
It is distributed directly by the makers. It comes in an Italian-English
version, as well as a French-German one. |
