Terra Futura: green show and conference, May 29-31 2009
Terra Futura is an annual show (now in its 6th year) at the Fortezza da Basso. Over three days there will be seminars and talks related to green themes (all in Italian), the purpose of which is to present information about practices that are sustainable and natural. If you can’t understand Italian, no problem – you can still visit the exposition area with themes like sustainable tourism, green building, natural foods, volunteerism, and green things for kids and parents.
Of particular interest is a series of workshops, hands-on labs, games, shows (movies?) and stuff for children listed here. There are plenty of freebies and interesting information, and this would be a good place to go practise your italian. I was there today (Friday 29th) and I did not see anyone who stood out as a “tourist”; in fact everyone I talked to was Italian, either local or in town for the event.
OPENING HOURS: Friday 9-20, Saturday 9-22, Sunday 10-20
It’s FREE!!!!
The Fortezza da Basso is that huge defense structure on your map, right behind SMN train station. There is a nice park there with a fountain in the middle; this is a meeting point for locals especially those with kids.
